The apostles, sent out as missionaries, came back and gathered with Jesus, and told Him all that they had done and taught. And He said to them, (As for you) “come away by yourselves to a deserted place, AND REST A WHILE.” Mark 6:30, 31.
ANAPAUSIS: Rest. Cessation. Refreshment. Intermission – by implication a time of recreation.
Christ’s rest is not a rest from work but in work, “not the rest of inactivity but of the harmonious working of all the faculties and affections – of will, heart, imagination, conscience – because each has found in God the ideal sphere for its satisfaction and development.” J. Patrick quoted in Vines Dictionary of New Testament Words.

There is a time for everything under heaven. You’ve been working hard. There are times you feel weary, you wonder if you are winning, you might even want to quit. The solution is not to burn out, get cynical, give up, quit, walk away or act out and disqualify yourself. Come away to a deserted place and rest a while. Rest, refresh and revive.
